About Us

Hey there! Here is a little something about me..

I love this picture with me and my Schnoodle, Charlie. He was my furry child for 15 years before he passed away in March 2021.

Before I lost Charlie, I also lost my mother in 2017 and have experienced in my lifetime, other life challenges, such as divorce and job loss.   I believe that Life is about learning lessons from each challenge. Challenges also help me stay spiritually connected to God.  I can not walk this walk alone.  I rely on the guidance and strength received through prayer before making any major decisions in my life.

I earned a Masters Degree in Marketing and Finance from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management and an Undergraduate Degree in Business from Loyola University.

I purchased my first property when I was 27, and am now also a landlord.

I worked in the retail banking industry for over 20 years. I am now in the non-profit arena as a Financial Coach and  Housing Counselor. My passion and goal is to guide clients through the homebuying process and provide resources to existing homeowners  that will help them retain and maintain their home. I am a self-proclaimed geek who wants to know as much about my industry as I can, and pass on the information I’ve learned to benefit others.

There are many benefits to homeownership.

This website and blog posts are my contribution towards breaking down the barriers to homeownership.

Education and access to resources such as down-payment/closing cost assistance programs are key to purchasing for clients of low-to-moderate income.

It is also dedicated to the challenges of home retention.  During this pandemic, there will be many challenges ahead with homeowners coming out of Forbearance Plans and facing payments that may no longer be affordable.

It is my prayer that readers will find the information contained on this site helpful for purchasing and keeping your home.
